COSMETIC INJECTABLE TREATMENTS

Patient Instructions

ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS

Botulinum Toxin Type A, registered in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG), serves cosmetic purposes, targeting frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines. It’s also employed for facial symmetry and enhancement. This treatment weakens muscles, curbing expression lines by injecting Botulinum Toxin Type A into specific muscles. It induces muscle weakness, reducing treated muscle function, diminishing or erasing expression lines. Dosage varies based on individual factors, administered by a registered nurse post consultation with a doctor. Effects emerge within 14 days, typically lasting 2 to 4 months. Muscles won’t function while the injection is active, reversing after 3-4 months, allowing for potential re-treatment.
The most common side effects associated with the use of Botulinum Toxin type A include, but are not limited to: Swelling, Bruising, Infection, Temporary eyelid/eyebrow drooping, Muscle atrophy, Headache. Other side effects may include Dry Mouth, Tinnitus, Erythema multiforme, Anorexia, Vision blurred, Visual disturbance, Hypoacusis, Dysarthria, Paresthesia, Pyrexia, Malaise, Myalgia, Myasthenia gravis, Radiculopathy, Syncope, Hypoesthesia, Facial paresis, Facial palsy, Strabismus, Vertigo, Peripheral Neuropathy, Pruritus, Diarrhea, Dermatitis psoriasiform, Alopecia including madarosis, Abdominal pain, Nausea and/or vomiting, and Brachial plexopathy.
Generalised side effects may occur such as rash, Itchiness, allergic reactions, flu like symptoms, and hypertrophic scars/keloids and tightness. Long term use of Botulinum Toxin can divert muscle atrophy. I acknowledge and accept that Botulinum Toxin Type A treatment applied to my forehead area may only last between 6 to 8 weeks and once the effectiveness has worn off, I may be able to undergo further treatment.
Some individuals may develop antibodies to the treatment, necessitating alternative options at an extra cost. If these are ineffective, a temporary restriction of 18 months from anti-wrinkle treatment may apply, without refunds, as the product has been utilized. Building antibodies may prevent future therapeutic use of Botulinum Toxin Type A.
PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Refrain from alcohol 24 hours before your appointment to minimize the risk of bruising, and avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications if possible for 2 weeks before your treatment. Check with your clinician before stopping any medications.
Plan your appointment at least 2 weeks before special events, as results from Dermal Filler and Anti-Wrinkle injections take 4 to 7 days to appear.
Discontinue Retin-A 2 days before and after treatment, and reschedule if you have any skin irritation or blemish in the area.
Inform your provider if you have a history of cold sores, as they may recommend an anti-viral medication before treatment. Ensure you have a good breakfast before the procedure to prevent lightheadedness.
Note that pregnancy or breastfeeding disqualifies you as a candidate for the treatment.
POST TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Following your anti-wrinkle treatment, the following items may be helpful to know:
You may find it helpful to apply iced gauze to the treated area
Treatment normally takes 2-4 days to start to take effect. 10-14 days to reach full effect
Do NOT manipulate or touch the treated area for 6 hours following treatment.
Do NOT have any laser or facial after Anti-Wrinkle injections for at least 10 days.
Do NOT lie down for 4-6 hours after your Anti-Wrinkle injections treatment. This will prevent the Anti-Wrinkle injections from tracking into the orbit of your eye and causing drooping eyelid.
It can take approximately 14 days to see the results. If you feel that you do not have the desired result, you may need additional Anti-Wrinkle injections. You are charged for the amount of product used. Therefore, you will be charged for a product used during any touch-up or subsequent appointments.
Do NOT perform activities involving straining, heavy lifting, or vigorous exercise for 12 hours after treatment while the Anti-Wrinkle injections is settling in the injected area.
Do not expose your skin to excessive heat or cold including saunas, spas, steam rooms, hot yoga, ice baths or skiing. Changes in temperature can lead to you touching or rubbing your face more which can put unwanted pressure on the treated muscles, risking dispersion of the protein into unwanted areas
It is not unusual to experience some mild side effects following Anti-Wrinkle injections such as:
Mild swelling at or around the injection site
Mild tenderness or bruising at or around the injection site
Tiny red dots at the injection site
You may experience a mild headache after treatment. Paracetamol may be taken if required.
If you do experience bruising, minimise excessive exercise in the first couple of days following treatment
If you feel unwell or are concerned about any aspect of your treatment, contact the clinic.
Important
Anti-wrinkle product is a prescription muscle relaxant medicine and is used to treat a number of conditions within the body. It works by partially blocking nerve impulses and the effect depends upon where it is injected. If injected into a muscle, it will reduce excessive contractions of that muscle. This treatment lasts for approximately 3-4 months but will vary depending on the quantity used and of course, on the individual.
It is important to note that due to the subjective nature of these treatments, it is not possible to guarantee results and there are limitations depending on your personal anatomy. As these treatments are non-permanent, the longevity of treatment results may vary between individuals depending on how your body metabolises the product.
FOLLOW UP
After your initial treatment, you will generally be invited to attend a follow-up appointment approximately 2-4 weeks after your treatment. This enables us to assess the result and whether you need more product for correction. There are instances where one side will take effect quickly than the other, the other side then catches up over those 4 weeks as the maximal effect continues to build up to 4 weeks.
What happens over the next few months after treatment?
At 8 weeks post treatment, you will start to get more movement back.
At 12 weeks after treatment, most people find that their movement is 50% back to normal
At 16 weeks after treatment, most people find that their movement is 80% back to normal.
Retreatment is advised every 3-4 months to maintain results.
If you experience any of the above severe complications please contact the clinic on 0421978805 or [email protected]
Please note this email may not be seen between the hours of 9pm and 7am so if any concerns arise during this time or if there is a high level of concern after hours present to your nearest emergency department or call 000.

DERMAL FILLERS &

BIO-REMODELLING INJECTIONS

Hyaluronic Acid is a natural substance (a complex sugar) that stabilises the skin structure, attracts and binds water, and contributes to the elastic properties of the skin that allow it to remain tight. Injections of Hyaluronic Acid into the skin are thought to replenish its natural support structures damaged by ageing, filling in facial wrinkles and hollows, and for lip augmentation. Patients will initially observe swelling to the treatment area. It may take up to three days to see any results. The effect of Hyaluronic Acid generally lasts for 4 months or longer and will require follow-up treatments to maintain results. Dermal filler treatments gives amazing results. However, it is important to note that due to the subjective nature of these treatments, it is not possible to guarantee results and there are limitations depending on your personal anatomy. As these treatments are non-permanent, the longevity of treatment results may vary between individuals depending on how your body metabolises the product.

SIDE EFFECTS

Side effects associated with the use of Hyaluronic Acid treatment may be immediate or up to 10 years post treatment include, but are not limited to: Redness, Bruising, Swelling, Infection, Itching Sensation (in treated area), Tightness, Nerve Damage, Bumps, Lumps, Pimples, Tenderness, Cold sore outbreak, Pressure, Tissue Scarring, Pain, haematoma, bacterial or viral infections, nerve injury, salivary gland injury, Immune response.
Very rare cases of side effects associated with Hyaluronic Acid include: Irreversible discoloration, Abscess (hard and swollen sore that may contain pus), Stroke, Exacerbate the asymmetry of the treated area, Vascular occlusion/Necrosis, Granuloma (small accumulation of tissue), Blindness, Hypertrophic scars/keloids
RISK OF INFECTION: Trauma during the procedure is caused by needles and cannulas passing through tissue, and includes bleeding, bruising, haematoma (a larger collection of blood in the skin, outside of blood vessels), damage to underlying structures including veins, arteries, nerves, salivary glands, lymph nodes, bone, muscle and other soft tissue structures are possible. In rare cases this could cause continuous problems in appearance, sensation or function and may require treatment. These problems may resolve in time, but medical intervention may be required in some cases, and long-term effects may persist in rare cases.
INFECTION: Bacterial, viral or fungal infections can occur as a result of the procedure. Infections cause redness and swelling and resolve or progress into an abscess biofilm, which can be slower to recover. Rarely infections occur months later as ‘biofilm’ reactions. Symptoms include itching, and a lumpy or ‘thick’ feeling at or just under the skin. Injections into the lip area could trigger a recurrence of cold sores (Herpes simplex infections) which may require treatment. These problems may resolve in time, but medical intervention may be required in some cases, and long-term effects may persist in rare cases.
REACTIONS: Reactions rarely occur but can include an immediate reaction causing swelling, and very rarely life-threatening anaphylaxis. Delayed reactions localised to the skin can cause nodules, lumps or bumps or very rarely sterile abscesses. These may occur soon after the procedure or months later. They may require treatment and may leave permanent effects on appearance, sensation and function of the areas affected. The chance of delayed reaction increases if you have active autoimmune disease or an active immune system including viral or bacterial infections elsewhere.
LUMPS, BUMPS, SWELLING: Unwanted visual side effects may cause dissatisfaction or distress, and include an increase in asymmetry, swelling, lumps, bumps, puffiness or surface irregularities. These side effects are temporary and treatable with full resolution likely.
SKIN CHANGES: Procedures are rarely associated with pigment changes, the formation of thread veins or new capillaries, and other blemishes. These may either recover, require further treatment or be permanent.
BLOOD VESSEL BLOCKAGE, VASCULAR OCCLUSION: In rare instances the blood supply can be blocked by filler. This can cause local tissue injury called ‘necrosis’, which can result in permanent scarring. There are extremely rare cases in which blood supply to the eye, or parts of the brain can be affected causing blindness and stroke. Seeking help immediately if you suspect blood vessel occlusion is vital to prevent scarring.
In the event you are not located in a major city or near a specialised Eye Hospital, reversal of side effects may not be possible. Although the risk of developing a serious complication is small, should a complication occur, the Registered Health Practitioner involved in your treatment will use their best medical judgement to do whatever is necessary to treat the problem. In the event that any Hyaluronic Acid is over filled or attracts excess fluid in the area treated, it may need to be dissolved. If you experience any discomfort/discolouration as a result of treatment, you should immediately notify the Registered Health Practitioner involved in your treatment. In the event of an adverse reaction, the administration of the medication Hyaluronidase or surgery may be required. If the administration of the medication Hyaluronidase or surgery is required, this will be at the expense of the patient. In the event any complications occur, several appointments at different clinic locations may be required to treat the area affected.
Hyaluronic Acid injected to any treatment area:
(i) will only give minor improvement to volume loss,
(ii) will in no way treat or improve pigmentation or dark circle under the eyes,
(iii) may cause migration,
(iv) may require several treatments to achieve the desired outcome.
If you experience any of the above severe complications please contact the clinic on 0421978805 or [email protected]
Please note this email may not be seen between the hours of 6pm and 7am so if any concerns arise during this time or if there is a high level of concern after hours present to your nearest emergency department or call 000.
FILLER DISSOLVANT

In some treatments there is a small risk that the dermal filler will press on small blood vessels causing a reduced circulation of blood to the skin. This can lead to tissue damage and possibly scarring. If you experience prolonged pain in the area injected and/or a change in skin colour (paleness, white or dusky grey discolouration as opposed to the purplish/red colour of a bruise) within 24 hours after your treatment, please contact your cosmetic practitioner immediately for advice and Hyaurondase may be administered to dissolve the injected filler.

In the event Hyaluronic Acid complication occurs an agent known as Hyaluronidase may be used to dissolve the filler.  Hyaluronidase is, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid, and has been used in medical applications for over 60 years. For the correction of complication and unsatisfactory results after filler injections.   Risks and side effects of Hyaluronidase include pain, itching or redness where the injection is given. Swelling in the hands, feet or other body areas may also occur, as well as a breakdown of the patient’s own Hyaluronic Acid and any Hyaluronic Acid in the area/s treated could need further dermal filler to revolumise the area, a reduction in skin elasticity and volume and associated asymmetry which typically would last a few days. It is common to cause bleeding, bruising, some swelling or oedema and redness near the injection site, infections, bleeding, bruising, haematoma (a larger collection of blood in the skin, outside of blood vessels), damage to underlying structures including veins, arteries, nerves, salivary glands, lymph nodes, bone, muscle, and other soft tissue
structures are possible. In rare cases this could cause continuous problems in appearance, sensation or function and may require medical intervention to treat or may be permanent. Most traumatic injuries heal completely on their own. Other Rare side effects include cough, difficulty swallowing, hypersensitivity reaction, urticaria, angioedema, dizziness, fast heartbeat, hives or welts, skin rash or anaphylactic reaction.

DAY OF TREATMENT

  • Arrive to the office with a “clean face”. Please do not wear makeup.
  • To maximize your comfort during the procedure, a topical aesthetic may be applied
  • You may experience a mild amount of tenderness or a stinging sensation following the treatment.
  • Bruising and swelling may occur.
  • Please advise your cosmetic practitioner prior to treatment if you have suffered in the past with cold sores on the skin or lips. This viral infection may be re-activated by some injectable treatments. You are advised to take an anti-viral medication such as Zovirax on the day of your treatment and for several days after your treatment (available for purchase from the clinic prior to your treatment) or L-lysine (available from the chemist or health store) for 2-3 days prior to and a week after your treatment. If cold sores develop after your dermal filler treatment, please call the clinic immediately or your GP

POST TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

During the first 24–48 hours after treatment you will experience redness, swelling and tenderness in the treated areas. These responses are normal and resolve quickly and spontaneously over the next 2-4 days.

Bruising and Swelling

Bruising at the site of injection is also common and clears completely in 1-10 days. This is temporary and will disappear overtime.  Once bruising has formed (within the first 48 hours) it is better to apply warmth to the area to encourage the body’s natural reabsorption of the bruise from the skin. You can use Arnica cream and arnica tablets to help alleviate any bruising.

Swelling and bruising can give the appearance of ‘unevenness’ in the area treated. This will settle once the swelling and bruising has gone. If there is any ‘unevenness’ present after 14 days, please contact the clinic for advice. Occasionally a further ‘correctional’ treatment is required within the first 2-4 weeks after your dermal filler treatment. If you would like to have further enhancement, it can be done after 1-2 months. NOTE: Any additional dermal filler required will be charged at the usual rate.

After your dermal filler treatment, please avoid the following:

  • Do NOT, touch, press, rub, or manipulate the implanted areas for 6 hours after treatment. This can cause irritation, sores or possible scarring.
  • Patients should not apply make-up for 24 hours after the injection, Try to avoid wearing makeup or lipstick until the day after treatment. Earlier use may cause pustules.
  • Sleep on your back
  • Do not fly for at least 2 weeks
  • Drink lots of water
  • If you got your lips injected, do not lick your lips for at least 48 hours to avoid infections
  • Patients are recommended not to wear any restrictive headwear including Goggles, and large sunglasses
  • It is recommended that patients avoid facedown massages or facial treatment(s) that involve pressure
  • Avoid vigorous exercise, sun and heat exposure for 3 days after treatment.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, UV light, freezing temperatures or using saunas or Turkish baths for two weeks after the injection
  • Avoid submerging head under water for a full 24 hours after. This includes pools, beach, bathtub, hot tub, etc.
  • Patients should not undergo any laser treatment(s) to the area for one month post injection.
  • Avoid Aspirin, Motrin, Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E or any other essential fatty acids at least 3 days to 1 week after treatment. These items may increase bleeding and bruising.
  • Apply ice frequently as required to the area injected for up to 6 hours after the treatment. This will prevent or help to alleviate any bruising. It will also help to reduce any swelling.
  • Avoid alcohol, caffeine, Niacin supplement, high-sodium foods, high sugar foods, refined carbohydrates, spicy foods and cigarettes 24-48 hours after your treatment. These items may contribute to increased swelling or irritation.
  • Avoid the use of Retin-A or similar products (ex. Kinerase, Tazarac) 2 days after treatment to avoid increased irritation or redness.
  • Avoid cosmetic treatments such as laser, ultrasound, peels, facials or micro-dermabrasion for 2 weeks after treatment.
  • Please report to your provider immediately if you have increased pain, swelling, redness, blisters or itching following your treatment.
  • Please remember one side may heal faster than the other side.

WARNING: Signs of vascular Injury include an area of pale skin immediately after the procedure, a blotchy or mottled pattern and then blue/grey darkening of skin overtime. Alongside this, symptoms of increasing pain over time especially in the first 24 hours occur. Examination of the blood flow by a clinician may confirm the diagnosis. Please urgently call us if you notice this.

MASSAGE

Please refrain from massaging as this may move the filler into an undesired location. However, if you notice early nodule formation of the accumulation of product, then they you gently massage the area. Please contact us if you have any concerns.

Your injector will work hard to optimise placement and product choice to limit the risk of migration but you can also protect the result by avoiding unnecessary massaging or any habits that may overtime affect the product. You should not have to live your life around the product, all normal activity is fine, but be aware of habitually exerting pressure on the treated area.

FOLLOW UP

After your initial treatment, you will generally be invited to attend a follow-up appointment approximately 2-4 weeks after your treatment. This enables us to assess the result and whether you need more product for correction.

Platelet rich plasma (prp)

Pre-Treatment

  • Drink plenty of water and adhere to a healthy lifestyle for the few weeks before your treatment. The healthier you are, the better your treatment will work.
  • Avoid anything that may cause bruising including Vitamin E, Fish oil and excessive fatty acids, aspirin and Neurofen and heavy alcohol intake.
  • It’s best to avoid all alcohol and drink plenty of fluids in the week before your PRP.

Post -Treatment

  • During the first 24–48 hours after treatment you will experience redness, swelling and tenderness in the treated areas. These responses are normal and resolve quickly and spontaneously over the next 2-4 days.
  • You can apply light water-based or mineral makeup where necessary.
  • Dink plenty of cold water for 48 hours after the procedure.
  • Bruising at the site of injection is also common and clears completely in 1-10 days.
  • Swelling and bruising can give the appearance of ‘unevenness’ in the area treated. This will settle once the swelling and bruising has gone. Please contact the clinic for advice if there is any ‘unevenness’ present after 14 days.

After your Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment you should:

  • Avoid alcohol, caffeine, hot drinks and spicy food for 24 hours, as these may exacerbate bruising and swelling.
  • Avoid medications such as aspirin or nurofen for 1-2 weeks as they are blood thinning agents and may exacerbate bruising (if these medications have been advised by your GP please check with your GP before stopping them)
  • Avoid supplements such as multivitamins, fish oils, glucosamine and Vitamin B or Vitamin E, which are blood thinning agents and may exacerbate bruising for 1-2 weeks (if these supplements have been advised by your GP please check with your GP before stopping them)
  • Avoid exercise/exertion for 24 hours
  • Avoid excess sun exposure or solarium use for 24 hours
  • Apply ice frequently as required to the area injected for up to 6 hours after the treatment. This will prevent or help to alleviate any bruising. It will also help to reduce any swelling. You can use Arnica cream and arnica tablets to help alleviate any bruising. NOTE: bruises can last 1-10 days. They are TEMPORARY and will completely disappear over time with no effect on your treatment. Once bruising has formed (within the first 48 hours) it is better to apply warmth to the area to encourage the body’s natural reabsorption of the bruise from the skin. Please advise your cosmetic practitioner prior to treatment if you have suffered in the past with cold sores on the skin or lips. This viral infection may be re-activated by some injectable treatments. You are advised to take an anti-viral medication such as Zovirax on the day of your treatment and for several days after your treatment (available for purchase from the clinic prior to your treatment) or L-lysine (available from the chemist or health store) for 2-3 days prior to and a week after your treatment

You will feel raised ‘bumps’ and raised ‘threads’ on the skin in some areas that have been treated. It is advisable to massage the areas gently with a greasy moisturiser or arnica cream 2-3 x daily for 5-7 days. This will ensure that the booster is spread across the deep layer of the skin to create a sheet of product which will attract water to it and hydrate the deep layer of the skin. DO NOT MASSAGE ANY AREA TREATED WITH PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP) IF YOU HAVE ALSO HAD MUSCLE RELAXANTS INJECTED IN THE SAME AREA If you feel that further treatment of an area is required, please contact your cosmetic practitioner for a follow up appointment or advice as to when a further treatment can be carried out.

If you suffer any allergic responses, prolonged generalised symptoms or any lumps/unevenness persists after 14 days, please contact us on [email protected]

PDO THREADS

Threads are placed under the skin via needle in the lower part of the face, neck, jaw and jowls once a topical numbing cream is applied for your comfort. Made from polydioxanone (PDO), the threads eventually dissolve while stimulating collagen and elastin production, creating a tightening effect. Once the needle is removed the threads remain in place for up to six months and then slowly dissolve.

PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

  • Do NOT consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising)
  • Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, if possible for a period of 2 weeks before treatment. Medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections. Please talk to your clinician before stopping any medications.
  • Schedule your appointment at least 2 months prior to a special event which you may be attending, such as a wedding or a vacation.
  • Discontinue Retin-A 2 days before and 2 days after treatment.
  • Please do not smoke 2 days before and 2 weeks after treatment.
  • Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you have a rash, cold sore or blemish on the area.
  • If you have a history of cold sores please let your provider know, they may put you on an anti-viral medication prior to treatment.
  • Be sure to have a good breakfast, including food and drink before your procedure. This will decrease the chances of lightheadedness during your treatment.
  • You are not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Arrive with a “clean face”. Please do not wear makeup.
  • Do not schedule any dental work, including cleanings, 2 weeks prior to treatment.
  • We always recommend using sunscreen to protect your skin as we will not perform the treatment on sunburnt skin. Please use care when in the sun and in the days prior to your appointment.
  • Do not use PDO Thread Lift if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are allergic to any of its ingredients, or suffer from any neurological disorders.

IMMEDIATELY AFTER-TREATMENT

  • Swelling is a normal result of the injections and will generally disappear within 5-10 days. Swelling may also appear asymmetrical, this is normal and not an indication of the end result. Natural asymmetries are normal.
  • Redness, minimal to moderate swelling may be expected. Bruising may also be visible.
  • It may be normal to experience some tenderness at the treatment site(s) that can last for a few days.
  • It is common to feel a “firmness” in the treated area(s) after the first few days and weeks of the treatment. Over time, the area(s) will soften and “settle”, leaving you with a soft, natural looking result.

POST TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

  • Swelling is a normal result of the injections and will generally disappear within 5-10 days. Swelling may also appear asymmetrical, this is normal and not an indication of the end result. Natural asymmetries are normal.
  • Post-treatment discomfort is completely normal. However, if you are experiencing any extreme discomfort, nerve pain or numbness or muscle dysfunction please inform the clinic. You can Take regular paracetamol, apply a cool compress and sleep on your back, slightly elevated.
  • Apply a cool compress to the area for 10 minutes every hour on treatment day.
  • Take an antihistamine (e.g. 10mg loratadine)
  • Do NOT manipulate or touch the treated area for 6 hours following treatment.
  • Do NOT have any laser or facial after Anti-Wrinkle injections for at least 10 days.
  • Do not pick at the tiny scab that will form at the entry point over the next few days.  If it itches, hydrogen peroxide on a Q-tip may be gently applied to the site, or an oral antihistamine such Benadryl can be taken.
  • Do not apply skin care products/makeup for 24 hours post treatment
  • You may begin wearing makeup once any pinpoint bleeding from the injection site(s) has subsided and once your face has healed.
  • Avoid MASSAGE the treated area(s) for 4 weeks. When cleansing your face or applying makeup, use gentle, sweeping motions to avoid excessive mobility of the area(s).
  • Avoid bath (only shower), strenuous activities/sports for 1 week.
  • Avoid Direct Heat, RF, Laser, IPL treatment for 4 weeks.
  • AVOID excessive chewing, talking, yawning, smiling, and other facial movements of the treated area(s) for 1 week. You might occasionally feel a small pop to the area. That is OK, the thread is still setting in and it won’t cause any drop of facial structures.
  • Keep your head elevated in several pillows for the first 3 nights after the procedure, avoid sleeping in the face down position if you can.
  • You may take Panadol if you experience any mild tenderness or discomfort. AVOID aspirin or ibuprofen products as they may increase your potential to bruise.
  • AVOID drinking alcohol for a minimum of 12 hours as this may contribute to bruising and/or swelling.
  • AVOID extended UV exposure until any redness/swelling has subsided. Be sure to apply an SPF 40 or higher sunscreen.
  • Additional Instructions: Call our office promptly if you experience ANY of the following signs and symptoms: Increasing pain, redness, swelling, significant bruising or darkening at or around the treatment area lasting over 5 days, notable change in temperature to the skin surrounding the treatment area, drainage or fever or ANY other concerns you may have.
  • Avoid shaving/dermaplaning the treatment area for 7 days.
